the 1975 - Motion Album Cover

My hand-drawn and animated spec motion album cover for The 1975's "Notes on a Conditional Form" is my personal interpretation of the album title. I believe that our physical and mental facilities are all conditional, and that we experience a conditional state by the changes we go through physically, mentally, and emotionally. This animation shows multiple facets of a person, representing their past, present, and future selves. You can try to connect these pieces, but you will always come up with multiple versions of that person, symbolizing our ever-changing state of being.

In the animation, body parts are constantly morphing and shifting, with different features and expressions emerging from the same core representing the multiplicity of identities that we all possess, and the way in which our identities are constantly evolving. This motion album cover is a play on the human experience and a reminder that we are all complex and multifaceted beings, forever intertwined and ever-changing.
